Great food and service. Best Tiramisu in town also. Good selection of Latin America products. I highly recommended!!!
I just want to say this restaurant has the most incredibly nice staff! Their sandwiches are amazing, and their outstanding customer service is a rare find these days! I had a car issue down the street from their restaurant while I was driving to pick up my sandwich that I had ordered online. I left my car, walked to the restaurant, and told them what happened, and two gentlemen from Villa Roma gave me a ride back to my car, and helped me get my car back on the road! ABOVE & beyond kind and courteous! I don't know how to thank them enough! They really helped me out, and the sandwich was awesome as always!! Thank you Villa Roma! :D
It's been since 2016 since I've last written a review so I'd say it's about time for an update don't you think? Plus it's even more significant sense I feel it's just as good then as it is now. So this review is for the deli side that's open for lunch and definitely more casual than the dining side. The things I love most about this place, especially in today's economy is my favorite bang-for-your-buck items! 1. Tuesday empanadas! Still $1.25 and they don't really advertise it at all. another secret 2. Wednesdays BOGO pizzas!! They had this about 1 year ago and it's still here, amazing! The pizza is of good quality and cheap. Most pies range from $17-$20 so a BOGO makes it a great Bang for your buck! Again these 2 deals they don't advertise at all strangely enough but I do see it if you order online. Staff is friendly and place is kind of small but there's always a table or 2 available!
Ive been here before but 1st time to try the Mixto; sweetbread, blood sausage, Argentinian Sausage, flank/ skirt steak, short rib. Surprisingly, my fave of the bunch was the sweetbread, with blood sausage a close second. All the proteins were tasty and perfectly cooked, and the service was friendly and accommodating. The ambience is cozy, unpretentious, relaxed, straightforward. What a wonderful experience!!! Will have to try the empanadas next time. Ive already raved about this place/ offerings to my coworkers.
We came here for a late Mother's Day dinner with family. The restaurant/dinning room area was actually closed so we sat in the market. It was kinda a bummer, but they did have some football games on the TV that was entertaining. We got a seat at a half booth as soon as we walked in. Our waiter was friendly and helpful. We ordered drinks first and were given bread. For our appetizer we got the fried calamari. The calamari breading was light, but a little too salty. The marinara sauce was really tasty though. For my entree I got the skirt steak with a side salad. The skirt steak was good. It was cooked to my preference, medium, but was a bit on the chewy side. The chimichurri sauce was flavorful and herby. It went well with the meat. My salad was super fresh and was even topped with some Kalamata olives. I also tried some of my Mom's veal marsala. It was super tender and her roast potatoes were crispy. After our dinner we browsed the market and got some chocolate wafers to take home. The market was really unique and had a lot of products I usually don't see in normal grocery stores. It was a really good Mother's day dinner. I'd definitely come back for the food and the market.
We love this place! The food is good always. Prices are reasonably fair. We were there again last week after a year and they had a change of decoration with booths instead of regular table and chairs which made it more private. Love that they have live music and space for dancing. The service was also good. It is a great place for a family or groups to hang out. They also have a small market connected on one side which is way more casual and serves the same food and also sell some products.
Went for an early dinner last night with my friend that has been here many times . First we checked out their mini market - deli it smelled delicious- it has vino and fresh food to order at a less expensive price point open at lunch and it carries their freshly made to Go items in the refrigerator section you can take and bake of some items . We then went into the restaurant to have dinner and were helped by Sabrina. We ordered the pasta and I had the lasagna which was pretty good . After dinner my friend was craving gelato which was one of the desert choices on the menu . Sabrina brought out this new bowl of chocolate and vanilla what they called gelato with strawberries and blackberries around it topped with fresh mint and whip cream- I gave it a 5 out of 5 for presentation- I would give a 5 out of 5 if we wanted ice cream but we both had quietly eaten 3 bites each and I said this isn't gelato and she said no it's ice cream . We had Sabrina double check and she said it's a different vendor it's Italian ice cream - we said that's what gelato is - this isn't that but didn't want to make a big deal but I don't eat regular ice cream being lactose intolerant- I love enjoying rare treats of gelato and I know Tutu makes theirs and down in laguna this is scooped and taste like ice cream but other then that - all was good . They were gracious and didn't charge us for the frozen treat that we didn't finish - Thank you !! I wish we went little later so we could have stayed later to enjoy the live music and people that were there they all seem so nice . The severs were WONDERFUL!!!! So if you're looking to enjoy an evening out - with the family - go early this restaurant is welcoming to all - go later and dance the night away . Ambiance at 5 PM a little bright - 7 pm or so lights taken down and table candles lit much nicer . One negative was the table bbq it smoked up the dining room Like a smoker smell my clothes and jacket smelled like it when I got home but the food sure looked good that was on it - yum . All in All this is a WIN !!!
(Dined/Took Out 10/24/2023 TU @ 12:00pm): This villa provided a touch of Argentina and Italy! I initially came across Villa Roma when I picked up food from them for the 2023 Newport Beach Film Festival. I loved Italian food, and I always felt Argentinian cuisine was very similar (with the exception of the emphasis on beef). Was my first tasting a primer of more good eats to come as I roamed toward this villa in South Orange County!? I sat myself at a table, read the menu, and minutes later a friendly young gentleman took my order. My beer came out quickly along with a basket of bread. My food then came out in timely ten minute intervals. Halfway through my sandwich, I placed my pizza and empanadas takeout order. Soon enough, my empties were cleared away and my to-go food was ready. It was a really pleasant extended lunch - thank you! PARKING (FREE) Located within the La Paz Village outdoor shopping center, there were plenty of spots throughout; no need to look elsewhere - "nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A spacious deli/market/restaurant combo, the market consisted of several food aisles and refrigerated coolers, the deli was your basic counter display, and the restaurant was filled with many communal tables. There were minimal decorations on the wall (mainly Argentinian flags). Also, I believed there was an actual restaurant space next door although it appeared to be closed. Plenty of natural lighting came in through the large windows and doorway while soul-sucking fluorescent ceiling lights filled in the rest. There were several TVs throughout but couldn't recall if there was any background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Villa Roma was a pleasant time, and I would definitely consider another visit if I were in the area. The food was lovely, the prices were comparable, and the service was friendly and straightforward. The menu was varied enough, the deli section looked fabulous, and they had daily food specials such as Tuesday $1.50 empanadas (regularly $2.50), Wednesday BOGO pizzas, and more. Plus, I always enjoyed supporting mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $89.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
